Inchcolm is an island situated in the Firth of Forth, 4 miles from the Forth Bridge, Scotland’s iconic World Heritage site.

Join us on the “Iona of the East” Incholm Island, a place of legends, wars and famous chronicles! Its Abbey buildings dating back to the 12th Century are the best preserved monastic buildings in Scotland. Our “Black Canon” guides will inform and entertain you with tales of hermits and kings, wars and destruction, famous monks and ancient chronicles!

Queensferry Tours and Maid of the Forth have teamed up to bring you a unique visitor experience to Inchcolm Island. You will enjoy a spectacular sightseeing boat trip that departs from the Hawes Pier, South Queensferry (just outside Edinburgh), where you will get unrivalled views of the famous Forth Bridge World Heritage site. The boat will then drop you off on Inchcolm Island where you will be met by your “Black Canon” guide. After the walking tour you will have time to explore the island or perhaps enjoy a picnic before boarding the boat once more for your return journey to the Hawes Pier.

Walking Tours operate from June to September.

10:30 and 14:00 - Weekends from June to September

Tour duration:

The overall trip to the island is 3 hours
– 1.5 hours overall Boat Trip and 1.5 hours on the Island

The guided walking tour begins when you arrive on the
island and takes approximately 50 mins.


Walking tour tickets are £6.50 for adults, no concessions and children go free
